Staff and students at Bishopsford Arts College are especially excited about this year's Merton's Got Talent, after the Mayor of Merton chose their school to host the final of the event. As well as entering some of its best performers into the competition, there will be a special opportunity for some BAC students to learn the ropes backstage. A chosen few will get to work alongside professionals from the Wheelhouse Theatre Company and will be trained to use professional lighting and sound equipment ready for the final on 23rd April.

Peter Wallder from Wheelhouse said: "Merton’s Got Talent  will create a great opportunity for the chosen Bishopsford students to work alongside Industry professional engineers with access to state of the art equipment. A real hands on experience will take place from the setting up, running of and, just as important, the de-rigging of an event that will transform Bishopsford's performing space into a light and show extravaganza."

Meanwhile, rehearsals are well underway for this year’s big summer production: "The Sound of Music". As the first big performance under the new name of  Bishopsford Arts College, plans are afoot to put on a show to rival previous successes such as Grease and Bugsy Malone.
