Another Bishopsford Success Story
As part of its project to keep in touch with ex-students, Bishopsford Arts College has been hearing more and more success stories from its alumni. Obaid Bin Nasir left us just over two years ago with 9 GCSEs including 4 A*-As. We got in touch to find out how he is getting on.
"I went to Farnborough Sixth form College to do my A’Levels, and now I am at King's College London as a first year Law student. I plan to work as a lawyer at one of the main City firms. To supplement my current legal studies at King's, I am looking to apply for summer internships at several law firms this year. I also have aspirations to do a second degree in English Literature and have had poems published in the Young Writers anthologies.
"School is a stepping stone for further achievements in life. It begins to help you form the frameworks of your own success and gives you some of the essential ingredients that you need in order to tackle future academic challenges. In my own personal opinion the Humanities and English departments at Bishopsford especially excelled and really helped me develop academically."
This year at Bishopsford, 15.5% of students achieved at least 3 A*-A grades, compared with 8% the year before. For the second year running, Bishopsford has been awarded by the SSAT for the continued improvement in 5+ A*-C which reached 66%.
