Induction Day 2010
All at Bishopsford Arts College were delighted to welcome year 6 students from over 50 primary schools to join us at this year’s induction day on 30th June.
After attending an assembly given by the current Year 7 Leader, Mr Mba, and Assistant Vice Principal, Mr Humber, students were led around the school by student leaders from years 7 and 10. They attended lessons in Humanities, Science, Design and Technology, ICT and of course Performing Arts.
Students took part in a range of activities, from discussing the role of Greenpeace in improving our world and learning a dance to the Black Eyed Peas, to making fridge magnets and alien slime!
It was clear from the student evaluations of the day that the young people had enjoyed learning at Bishopsford. Navid from Liberty Primary said “it was great doing things I had never done before” and Ashley from Links Primary said “I really enjoyed making new friends”. Katie from Abbotsbury said “I loved all of it. It was fun in the school – I can’t wait for September!”
At the end of the day parents attended a meeting with the principal, Andrew Barker, and other key staff to help prepare them for their child’s transition to secondary school.
