Bishopsford and Malmesbury Primary School Working Together!
Staff and students from Bishopsford supported our local primary school, Malmesbury Primary, as they delivered an excellent “Interail Day” for the European Day of Languages – 23rd September 2010.
Malmesbury was turned into an international train station for the day. The children were given the opportunity to engage in role-play, as each year group “travelled by train” to the country they were studying.
The day was made as authentic as possible with check-in, security and a change of trains in Paris, where they had a croissant at the station café before boarding a train to their final destination. While in Paris they had the opportunity to order their food in French to the waitresses, who were played by year 9 students from Bishopsford Arts College.
The staff, students and friends threw themselves into their roles and with a very authentic train, complete with visual and audio effects and an enthusiastic conductor, station manager, passport control, security and waiting staff, the day was a great success!
