Xtra! Xtra! Dance Xtra!

 

This Christmas, Bishopsford Arts College celebrated its dance talent with "Dance Extra!" on 15th December. It showcased routines that have been choreographed in this term’s dance lessons and after-school clubs and featured 70 students from years 7-11.

The show played to a packed hall and explored a range of dance styles from the robotic movements of year 9 in “Toy Soldiers” to the contemporary dance of "Robbers" by year 9.

Of particular note was Bishopsford elite male dancer, Jack Leakey, who is currently being sponsored by the school to attend classes at Laine Theatre Arts and gave an amazing performance alongside Adele Gallego in their duet "Shadows".

Show director Mrs Adams and dance teacher Miss Gingell surprised the cast and audience by joining the students for the last number.

Mr Barker, principal, said "I am extremely proud of all the students who have worked very hard over recent weeks to produce this amazing extravaganza of dance. Performing arts at Bishopsford continues to go from strength to strength. We really appreciate the continued support of parents and the local community for events such as this."
