STOMP!

A group of 10 students was offered the opportunity to see a live show of STOMP at the New Ambassadors Theatre in London this month. STOMP is a piece of musical theatre with a difference, as there are no words or melodies, just percussion, built up from very simple building blocks into something very complex. The young people so obviously enjoyed it and were mesmerised all the way through. Most of these students have come to Britain from other countries, sometimes to escape terrible situations at home. It was so nice to see them happy and so far away from all their cares, past, present and future. The students even had a chance to participate by joining in with the rhythms. This added to the fun!

We are  grateful to Attic Theatre who made this possible, not only for organising the trip, but also for enabling us to continue with our weekly percussion sessions. Through the work of our great facilitators, John and Tara, the youngsters have had a great opportunity to develop their confidence.
